After The Midlife Crisis: Is There An ‘After’?
I felt truly inspired tonight to start a new category about what happens after a midlife crisis.
Sometimes I wonder if my life is all but a preset and laid out plan that someone else has devised for me to stumble and trip along for all my life. Maybe that sounds religious, or a religious calling but Im not going to go any further with that thinking!
This new category is about after the midlife crisis, after you’ve gone through what ever it created in your life, or your partner’s. Its about what happens, typically, or can happen and so what to expect.
Its about silly things like realising that children will have taken the place of your parents when you were younger as being your most effective contraception. Its about living with not only your partner but also her / his upset (damaged) kids from their previous relationship.
Its about being single again. Realising that you are, if you so wish, ‘in the market’ again. Its about being independent again. Its about seeing the world as your oyster.
Its about the chance to not only live your dreams, but to have the confidence and motivation to do so knowing that now, probably for the first time in your life, that you understand you only have this one precious life to live on this planet and the more you waste it bitter and twisted, or even dealing with others who are bitter and twisted, the more you will waste that precious resource.
I shall be writing more in this section as there is lots to say from my experience as well as from the experience of others.
