Motivational Thought For The Day
I recently was reading about a chap who climbed the Eiger mountain in the Alps in Europe. He didn’t like heights but took on the challenge to try to rid himself of it. He would constantly remind himself to always look up, never down. If he looked down he would be frozen and not able to continue, risking his own life as well as others.
This reminds me of this midlife period of our lives. Much can change in this time, nothing can be taken for granted, even that relationship you have had for the past few decades !
So, my motivational thought for today is:
Never Look Back, Always Look Forward
Whilst the fan maybe suffocating from an influx of the brown stuff it is hard to get a perspective on what to do even in the next five minutes let alone for the rest of your life. But stay steady, get help, get support, get time to think things through, write a list of things that need doing and even if you tick just one off each day you are nearer to the light at the end of the tunnel.
Stay strong. Go cry for an hour. Then get up and do something positive that moves your life forward.
There are lots of people out there willing to help. If may feel lonely at times but they are there when you might expect it least. Even on the Internet here I have made some connections with some very helpful and honourable people, and so can you.
Any safety expert will say, look after yourself first, then you can help others. This applies to dealing with your own or your partner’s Midlife Crisis
.
Keep yourself healthy and you will be better at helping those who need your help too.
If I ever look back the bitterness and anger start and its just a waste of time and effort doing that, it doesn’t do me any good and I have far more important things to ponder and wonderful people in my life to care for.
